About LMC

Logan Medical Center, LMC, is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in Guthrie, OK, which is the county seat for Logan County.

We are the community’s primary source for health care, medical emergency care, and prevention and wellness programs. With four primary care physician clinics located throughout the county, we can provide essential healthcare services to the youngest and oldest members of our community, and everyone in between. LMC employs 11 physicians ranging in specialties from internal medicine, pediatrics, and family medicine and five mid-level providers of physician assistants and nurse practitioners.

Our comprehensive list of services and community outreach allows us to work toward decreasing the incidence of disease and increase the awareness of basic guidelines to help families get and stay healthy.

The Emergency Room at LMC is unique among rural hospitals in that it is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a physician trained in emergency medicine. The nursing staff is trained in ACLS, PALS and TNCC. The ER is supported by our ancillary departments 24 hours a day.

Lab services at LMC offer a wide variety of testing and analysis to assist physicians in the diagnosis, treatment and management of disease and illness. Our lab is among the first in the nation to routinely include certain tests on selected chemistry panels. The continued improvements mean a more rapid turnaround time for tests, which means quicker results for physicians and the patient.

Our fully accredited radiology department features state of the art equipment in: CT, Ultrasound, diagnostic radiology, tradition X-ray, nuclear medicine, bone densitometry, digital mammography and MRI services. Strategic alliances allow us to offer a comprehensive women’s program to our community.

The LMC Home Health department continues to be one of the top HomeCare Elite agencies in the nation. Home Health provides a variety of skilled professional health services to clients in the comfort and security of their own home.

The Rehabilitative department at LMC offers services to outpatient, hospital in-patients and home health patients. Our services include orthopedics/sports medicine therapy, physical therapy, occupational, speech therapy and lymphedema therapy.

When patients need oxygen therapy, breathing treatments or other types of cardio/pulmonary treatments, they are given special attention through our respiratory therapy department. They provide EKG’s, cardiac stress testing, holter monitor and pulmonary function testing. This full continuum of care, from the onset of heart and lung disorders to recovery and rehabilitation, supports each patient in their efforts to maintain a healthier lifestyle.

LMC offers the latest in surgical health care. Utilizing advanced technology and skilled physicians we offer ENT procedures, orthopedics, general surgery, urology, ophthalmic surgery, cataract surgery and much more. Physicians representing these specialties, nurse anesthetists, registered nurses and support staff make up our highly trained surgical team.

The LMC Specialty clinic offers a means of providing a physician specialist close to home for the citizens in our community. We offer appointments in the following specialties: cardiology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, podiatry, cosmetic/plastic surgery, gastroenterology, gynecology, oncology, optometry, otolaryngology, urology, dermatology, psychiatry and pain management.

Sleep is as important to the body as diet and exercise. Our sleep lab can diagnose more than 89 different sleep disorders. The sleep lab staff routinely sees patients for a variety of sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnea, excessive daytime sleepiness, insomnia, narcolepsy and restless leg syndrome.

As health care needs change, LMC is changing too. We continue to add services, recruit physicians and expand our facility to meet these needs. Community involvement sets LMC apart. We actively support the schools and service organizations in Logan County. LMC is committed to always providing very good care from doctors and allied health professionals who are invested in the well-being of every member of the community.

LMC has been serving the communities of Logan County since 1978. The hospital’s operation is directed by a nine-member Board of Trustees who are appointed by Logan County’s Board of Commissioners.
