The laboratory professionals at Logan Medical Center in Guthrie serve a vital role in the delivery of health care. From diagnosis to recovery, the information gathered by clinical lab professionals drives approximately 70% of all clinical decisions. When a doctor diagnoses a condition and prescribes a therapy, he or she does this in partnership with laboratory professionals who help interpret test results and convey these data to your doctor. Tests are performed every day in the laboratory which help return patients to good health. As those responsible for providing information that other medical professionals need to appropriately care for patients, laboratory staff and pathologists are an invaluable resource and are the lifeblood of accurate diagnosis.
Laboratory personnel are unsung healthcare heroes who may not draw as much attention as other healthcare professionals because of their minimal patient interaction. Every day laboratory professionals provide the vital information that saves lives, reduces morbidity, and helps control the cost of care in the hospital. Their work is a foundational element of much evidence=based medicine and enables other healthcare workers, such as clinicians, to perform their jobs more successfully.
Logan Medical Center Laboratory is a full service clinical lab. Our lab currently provides in-house automated results of over 100 Chemistry and Immjunology tests, using state-of-the-art instrumentation. Testing provided also includes results in Hematology, Coagulation, Microbiology and full service Blood Bank. Esoteric testing is provided by the Laboratory Corporation of America. Logan Medical Center provides pathology services from Heartland Pathology Consultants of Edmond, OK. Blood products are provided for our community through a partnership with the Oklahoma Blood Institute.
