Millions of Americans have osteoporosis, the disorder in which progressive bone loss results in increased risk of fracture. Yet, most of us know little about protecting ourselves from this disease.
Research in osteoporosis is making important new advances. A key factor in this success is the availability of new and improved equipment to measure bone density. Logan Medical Center has the equipment to help identify the risk of bone loss at a much earlier stage. It can also evaluate response to treatment so that we know whether therapy is effective.
Further information regarding osteoporosis, risk factors, and bone density measurements may be obtained by contacting your physician at the Center for Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
Nuclear medicine and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) are mobile services available through referrals from your primary care physician.
