February 26, 2010—GUTHRIE—Logan Medical Center received the 2009 Business of the Year award at the annual Guthrie Chamber of Commerce banquet. Kay Wade, director of the Logan County Economic Development Council presented the award to Steve Rowley, Chief Executive Officer. “The hospital has continued to grow in an otherwise slow economy,” Wade said. LMC opened a new primary care physician’s clinic on S. Division in Guthrie in December and in mid- February opened an After Hours Clinic at the same location. “The economic impact the hospital has in our community is powerful,” Wade said.
LMC is one of the top ten employers in the county and provides work for 200 employees, including eleven primary care physicians, six mid-level providers. Five physicians specialize in internal medicine and pediatrics, two in internal medical, one in gastroenterology and three in family practice. These dedicated physicians see patients in four clinics located throughout the county. Sixteen specialists see patients in the LMC specialty clinic next to the hospital.
Mr. Rowley accepted the award on behalf of the physicians and staff at LMC. “I just want to thank everyone here for their support of the hospital,” Rowley said. “We know health care is important to all of you and it’s our goal to bring you the best services and doctors we can. Health care is changing and we are changing the way we bring it to you.” | |
