Mr. Joe Sharpe finished his second season with the Oklahoma City Thunder serving as head athletic trainer. Before joining the Thunder, Sharpe spent four seasons as head athletic trainer for the Charlotte Bobcats. Prior to Charlotte, Sharpe was the head strength and conditioning coach/assistant athletic trainer with the Minnesota Timberwolves for two seasons, which included the team's Midwest Division title and run to the Western Conference Finals. Sharpe was previously the head basketball athletic trainer at the University of Connecticut during a nine-year stint with the Huskies that included its 1999 NCAA Championship season. He worked as part of the United States Olympic Committee medical staff at the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center in 2002, and traveled to Thailand in 2007 for the University World Games. Sharpe worked with the USA Basketball men's junior national team in 2002 and 2008, and men's senior national team in 2009. He also participated in the NBA's Basketball Without Borders camp held in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2007. Joe and his wife, Jennifer, have two children, Joseph and Hayme.
Ms. Lisa Curtess, physician assistant, has been seeing patients at the LMC Academy clinic since 2007. Ms. Curtess is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center with a physicians associate degree. She also has a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and biology from Southern Nazarene University. Her primary specialty is in internal medicine with a secondary specialty in emergency medicine.
Dr. Bill Worden recieved both his bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma. He received his Doctrate in Osteopathic Medicine from Oklahoma State University. He currently works in the Emergency department at Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City while serving as a courtesy physician for four other hospitals in Oklahoma, including Logan Medical Center. He is currently an instructor in Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advance Cardiac Life Support. He is a current member of the American, Oklahoma Osteopathic Associations and the American College of Emergency Physicians. His research has been published in "Current Surgery". He is on the Crescent Public School board and volunteers his time to serve as the team physician for Crescent High School Athletics.
Mr. Jason Prather began working with the ECU athletic training program in the fall of 2001 where he serves as an instructor for the Kinesiology Department, Clinical Coordinator, and Head Athletic Trainer. Jason received his Masters in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma where he worked as a graduate assistant for football and wrestling. Prior to that he was the head athletic trainer at McNary High School in Keizer, OR, for one year after graduating from Western Oregon University where he received a B.S. in Physical Education, Non-Teaching with an emphasis in Athletic Training.
Mr. Mark Brown, PT, CSCS is a 1999 graduate from the University of Oklahoma's Physical Therapy Program. Prior to that, he graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he was a member of the Savage football and track teams. Over the years, Mr. Brown has worked with athletes at every level, from high school to Olympics. He was adjunct faculty for the PTA program at OCCC for 5 years and is currently teaching Upper Extremity Injury labs for the Physical Therapy department at OU. He has served at Rehabilitation Coordinator for the University of Central Oklahoma's Athletic Department for three years before taking his current job at the University of Oklahoma. He is also the Physical Therapist for the Oklahoma City Ballet, and Strength and Conditioning consultant to OU's Lacrosse Team.
Kyle Davis, MEd, ATC, LAT, is the Assistant Athletic Trainer at East Central Univerisyt for Football, Men's Basketball, Baseball, M & W Tennis, and M & W Golf. After a two-year stint in the NFL as an intern with the Indianapolis Colts, Kyle began working with ECU Athletic Training in the fall of 2010 where he serves as an instructor for the Kinesiology Department and Assistant Athletic Trainer. Prior to that he was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at East Central University where he received his Masters in Education: Secondary Education - Sports Administration. Before finishing his Masters at ECU Kyle spent time as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Austin Peay University where he worked with the cross country and track teams. Kyle is a graduate from ECU Athletic Training Education Program where received his B.S. in Kinesiology - Athletic Training Concentration.
Joe Waldron is a a Certified Athletic Trainer since 1996, having worked in both clinical and field settings. Currently specializing in sports medicine at the high school level, Joe is also a member of the NATA, National Athletic Trainers Association, the OATA, Oklahoma Athletic Trainers Association and the Oklahoma Coaches Association. He is an adjunct professor for the Sports Medicine Department of Southern Nazarene University supervising students during their clinical portion of the Athletic Trainer certification program. Joe received his bachelor of science in Kinesiology from East Central University in Ada, OK. |
