Health and Wellness
Health Coverage – Traditional or High Deductible Plans available
Full-time employees in positions scheduled a minimum of 72 hours each pay period are eligible for Health Coverage on the first of the month following hire. Employees pay a portion of the premium each pay period. Dependent coverage is also available.
Dental Insurance
Full- time employees in positions scheduled a minimum of 72 hours each pay period are eligible for the Dental Plan on the first of the month following hire. Coverage is available through payroll deduction.
Prescription Drug Program-ScriptCare
A prescription drug program also covers employees enrolled in either Health Plan. For the traditional health plan there are established co-pays and maximum out-of-pocket amounts for prescriptions. The use of generic and mail order prescriptions is encouraged to reduce overall costs.
Life Insurance
LMC pays for term life insurance of $20,000 for employees in positions scheduled a minimum of 72 hours per pay period. Coverage is also provided for Accidental Death & Dismemberment. Eligible employees may also choose to buy up to additional life insurance in $10,000 increments or 5 times their annual salary, not to exceed $300,000. Coverage begins on the first of the month following hire. Optional supplemental life insurance for employee and family are available.
Long Term Disability Insurance
LMC offers long-term disability coverage to employees in positions scheduled a minimum of 72 per pay period. Coverage begins the first of the month after 90 calendar days of employment and, if disabled, may provide 60 percent of the employee's base salary after a 180-day elimination period.
Vision Insurance
Vision insurance is offered to employees each year at open enrollment. Full-time and part-time employees scheduled at least 40 hours each pay period are eligible.
Wellness Works
Available to full-time and part-time employees LMC’s Wellness Works program is designed to assist employees make healthier lifestyle choices through monthly activities and ongoing incentive programs.
Vacation and Sick Leave
Paid Time Off (PTO)
PTO for full-time and part-time employees combines vacation days, holidays, personal days, and short-term illness in one unit of measure, providing great flexibility. PTO accrual is based on hours worked. Accrual increases with length of employment. From 20 days – 31 days, prorated for part-time employees.
Extended Illness Bank (EIB)
EIB hours are available to all full-time and part-time employees. Based on hours worked, accrual begins on the date of hire at the rate of seven days per year. EIB is available for the employee’s personal illness after 24 consecutive hours of missed time.
Family Medical Leave / Discretionary Leave
Family and Medical Leave allows up to 12 weeks of leave per year with job security. PTO/EIB usage, if available and applicable, will be required during any or all leave. With management approval, discretionary leave without pay may be granted for up to 90 days after exhaustion of PTO/EIB time with the possibility of reinstatement at LMC without loss of continuous service.
Funeral Leave
Full-time employees may be granted up to three (3) days funeral leave for regularly scheduled workdays due to the death of an immediate family member. Additional days off may be granted by requesting PTO.
Retirement Savings Plans
These options represent excellent ways to save for retirement and reduce income taxes.
403(b) Plan
LMC offers payroll deduction for retirement savings in a 403b plan. Employees are eligible to contribute on the first of the month following hire. After one year of continuous employment, employees participating in the plan will receive a matching contribution. For more information contact Human Resources.
457 Plan
Several tax-deferred annuities are available through payroll deduction.

Additional Benefits
Health Savings Account (HSA) - a personal savings account set up to be exclusively used for medical expenses. The HSA is available to those employees who chose the high deductible health plan as an alternative to traditional insurance coverage. LMC will contribute to the employees HSA and contributions made by the employee are considered tax-deductible.
Premium Pay/Shift Differential - payment of time and a half is provided for overtime and holidays. Evening and night hourly shift differential is also available if a position is regularly scheduled to end four or more hours into the next shift
Flexible Spending Accounts - dependent care and health care flexible spending accounts are available to full and part-time employees to enable pre-tax payment of LMC medical/dental premiums, childcare, and un-reimbursed healthcare expenses.
Parking - free and located close to the hospital
Workers' Compensation - payment of medical bills and partial wage replacement will be provided by LMC for qualified work-related injuries or illnesses. This is available to all employees and time off will be integrated with Family and Medical leave.
Transitional Work Program - program designed to facilitate a safe return to productive work for the employee who has a work-related injury/illness.
Meals Discounts - each employee receives a discount in the hospital cafeteria.
Employee Health - annual tuberculosis screening is required. Influenza vaccinations are available seasonally. Hepatitis B vaccine is available at no cost if a position has potential exposure to blood or body fluids.
Employee Service Awards - are given to employees beginning after five years of service.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - provides free, confidential, professional assistance to help employees and their families resolve problems that affect their personal lives or job performance.
Employee Activities Team (EAT) - established to promote employee morale and a sense of community through activities and positive reinforcement. Anyone can be a part of this group. During the year EAT is responsible for many fun events, activities and fund raisers.
Wellness and Health Screenings - at no charge employees may take advantage of semi-annual health screenings including total lipid profile, glucose finger sticks, body composition test, and height / weight check.
Orientation - hospital-wide personnel orientation is provided during the first month of employment.
